Springfield Engineering Firm Adds CADD Technician
A2V Partners LLC, a professional electrical engineering firm located in Springfield, Mo., has added a new professional to its internal team. Karen Hall will serve the company as a Computer-Aided Drafting & Design (CADD) operator for the growing firm, according to company founder and chief engineer Matt Bedinghaus.
“Much of the work we do involves drawing or re-drawing plans for substations, distribution networks and new power generation facilities,” said Bedinghaus. “It makes sense for us to have someone in house who can respond to the increased demand we’re seeing in the market right now. It’s helps us move forward more quickly, which generally saves our clients money. Karen is an excellent choice for this position and I’m very happy to have her on our team.”
Hall comes to A2V with 15+ years of experience and will head up the company’s CADD department. She will prepare technical drawings and plans for all projects contracted by A2V and will work closely with Bedinghaus and external engineering resources to accurately specify project requirements.
Hall is the second full-time employee to be added to the team since the company entered the business just a few months ago. Bedinghaus has won two engineering contracts since he started the firm and says that he expects demand for engineering services to increase in the short term.
“We’re talking to a number of companies in the power generation, transmission and distribution industry that are considering new projects,” Bedinghaus said. “This is an exciting time to be an electrical engineer.”

Bedinghaus earned his Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla in 1984 and his MBA in Finance from Rockhurst College in Kansas City in 1990. He has served a number of utility and engineering firms, including EPS Engineering & Design, Toth & Associates, LCA Engineering, and St. Joseph Light & Power Company.
